With just six days remaining for the public to submit comments on the revised Ponte Vista housing development, the Northwest San Pedro Neighborhood Council will vote on its official response to the project at Thursday's meeting.
The 6 p.m. meeting will be at Peck Park, 560 N. Western Ave.
The comment period on the draft environmental report addressing the project's effects closes at 4 p.m. Monday.
The latest project has been scaled down from an original 2,300 homes proposed more than seven years ago to either 1,135 or 830 homes.
The gated community is to be built on 61.5 acres of former Navy housing property at 26900 S. Western Ave.
Among issues raised over the new plan are traffic, the lack of dedicated senior housing and the elimination of a public park.
The city's report was released in November. Comments from the public will be taken into consideration by city planners as they prepare a final document.
