A woman struck by a car and critically injured in Torrance last month remains unidentified and unable to tell investigators who she is, police said Wednesday.

Detectives hope someone can provide her name, Torrance police Sgt. Robert Watt said.

The woman was struck shortly after 10 p.m. Dec. 20 in the 4300 block of Pacific Coast Highway near a Ross Dress 4 Less store. An eastbound vehicle hit her.

Police have tried unsuccessfully to identify her. She was reported in stable condition at a local hospital, but cannot be interviewed, Watt said.

The woman was described as white, in her 60s, 5 feet 2 inches tall, 160 pounds with gray hair.

Police asked anyone with information about the woman to call police at 310-618-5571.
