Coroner working to identify body found in San Lorenzo River
Authorities Sunday said they are working to identify the body of a man found floating in the San Lorenzo River on Saturday morning.
Santa Cruz police said they got a call about 8:30 a.m. Saturday that someone had seen a body floating in the river near the river mouth at the east end of Main Beach, Lt. Dan Flippo said.
The man was deceased when officers arrived, Flippo said. He was a white man who appeared to be about 50 years old, he said.
There were no signs of foul play, and police are investigating the circumstances of his death, Flippo said.
