NORTHRIDGE - Police are still investigating an early morning shooting that left a man in his 40s dead Tuesday at a bar in Northridge.

A man, whose specific age and identity has not been released pending family notification, was pronounced dead after a shooting that happened at 2:30 a.m. outside The College Inn sports bar at 8640 Lindley Ave.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to the back of his neck, officials said. No arrests have been made.

“Our homicide detectives are still investigating the case and are still on site,” said LAPD Sgt. Humberto Najera just before noon Tuesday.

He added that detectives are still interviewing witnesses and may not have a suspect description until much later in the day.

The bar is about a half-mile south of California State University, Northridge, but there is no immediate indication that the shooting is connected with the campus, officials said.
