RANCHO CUCAMONGA -- Sherry Werumand will be the guest speaker at the Nite Owl Quilters Guild meeting on Jan. 17.

The meeting will be at the James L. Brulte Senior Center, 11200 Base Line Road. Social time begins at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting starting at 7 p.m.

Non-members pay $5 at the door.

Werumand will offer a look at European, Mediterranean, and African mosaics and their influences on American quilting. She proves that history can be humorous as well as informative, but most of all entertaining.

While she lectures, her husband Mark adds a song and pattern drafting tips.

Sherry Werumand will teach a workshop at the Brulte center on Jan. 19, called "Mosaics and Motifs Table Runner." Many useful techniques will be presented by her during the workshop.

The cost for the workshop is $30 for members and $35 for non-members.
