Ceremony for trail bridge Tuesday
A ribbon cutting ceremony for the new pedestrian bridge in Carmel's Mission Trail Nature Preserve will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
The wooden bridge, which reopened Dec. 7, replaced a 35-year-old bridge.
Alzheimer's Association workshop Tuesday
A problem-solving workshop, "Behavioral Changes: Dealing with Hostility and Aggression," will be held 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Alzheimer's Association, 21 Lower Ragsdale Drive.
The workshop is designed for caregivers of people with memory loss.

Neighborhood Council meets Wednesday
The Salinas Neighborhood Council will hold a public meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall, 200 Lincoln Ave.
The meeting's main topic will be grants available for neighborhood organizations and efforts addressing crime.

Free teen driver program Wednesday
The California Highway Patrol will hold a Start Smart teen driver program at 6 p.m. Wednesday at its office on 960 E. Blanco Road.
The class is free, and parents or guardians are asked to attend. To reserve a spot, call Officer Robert Lehman at 796-2197.
Underwater Parks Day set Saturday
The fifth annual Underwater Parks Day, a celebration of marine protected areas, will be held Saturday.
At Point Lobos, visitors can view exhibits of underwater wildlife from 10:30 a.m. to noon, and presentations by environmentalists and filmmakers from 1:30 to 3 p.m. There is a $10 fee to enter the park, but the presentations are free.
At Elkhorn Slough, a presentation on marine mammals will be held from 11 a.m. to noon at the reserve's conference room.
