Los Angeles police continued their search Wednesday for a male who fired four shots at officers the night before as they responded to a traffic accident in Harbor Gateway.

The shots were fired from the second floor of a building. No one was hurt and officers did not return fire.

The gunfire was reported just before 10 p.m. Tuesday at the corner of Rosecrans and Vermont avenues.

Officers searching for the shooter set up a perimeter to divert traffic in the area. Traffic was allowed back in around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, police Officer Bruce Borihanh said.

Some people were stranded inside a 7-Eleven store near the intersection, according to a report by KCAL 9.

No one is in custody and officers continue to search for the suspect, Borihanh said.

No motive for the gunfire is known.
