CLAREMONT - William Peterson, the Harry S. and Madge Rice Thatcher Professor of Music at Pomona College, celebrates the college's 125th year with a recital of all-Claremont music on Sunday.

The free concert is at 3 p.m. in Bridges Hall of Music, 150 E. 4th St.

Inspired by the college's celebration year and the 10th anniversary of the installation of the Hill Memorial Organ at Bridges, Peterson said "I chose an all-Claremont program to feature present and past music by those associated with Pomona College's Department of Music as well as two of Claremont's esteemed musicians."

The composers are professors Joseph Clokey, Carl Parrish, William G. Blanchard, Karl Kohn, and former Pomona College student and composer John Cage. From the Claremont community are works by Orpha Ochse and Wilbur Held.

Planned are Fanfare and Canon on "Lobe den Herren" by Blanchard; "Mountain Sketches Jagged Peaks in the Starlight" by Clokey; Chorale prelude by Parrish on the Welsh hymn tune "Ton-y-botel", "Chaconne" by Ochse; "O God Our Help in Ages Past," Held; "Souvenir," Cage; "Prelude," Kohn; and "Fanfares" by Tom Flaherty.
