Dream Act applications now online
Dream Act applications for undocumented immigrant students are available online.
The California Dream Act allows access to public financial aid, including Cal Grants, for undocumented students who came to the country before turning 16 and attended California high schools.

Ron Eastwood named to literacy post
Ron Eastwood has been named executive director of the nonprofit Literacy Campaign for Monterey County.
Eastwood previously spent 35 years with the Monterey County Office of Education.
He said the organization is developing a resource directory of literacy services and will hold a summit later this year to "address the multiple challenges our community faces in delivering literacy services to the people who need and desire them."

Harmony holds e-waste recycling fundraiser
Harmony At Home will hold an e-waste recycling and shredding fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Barnyard Shopping Center, Highway 1 at Carmel Valley Road.
TVs, monitors, laptops, flat screens, cellphones and ink jet cartridges will be accepted for free.
Proceeds will benefit Harmony At Home's counseling program. The nonprofit's mission is "to end the cycles of violence and abuse by empowering children and young adults with knowledge, skills and confidence to lead healthy and productive lives."
