UPDATED: LAKEWOOD - A 32-year-old man was arrested Thursday on alleged grand theft auto charges, after surrendering in a barricaded house to sheriff's deputies. | » POLICE NEWS

The suspect, identified as Dustin Evenson of Lakewood, was booked on $25,000 bail, Lakewood Sheriff's Station Lt. Minh Dinh said Friday.

Deputies spotted a stolen car near Lakewood and Del Amo boulevards about 3:15 p.m. and gave chase, according to deputies.

Evenson then abandoned the older-model Honda and ran into a home, which was apparently unoccupied, at 4903 Fidler Ave. He barricaded himself in the home, but emerged shirtless from an attic vent after deputies lobbed tear gas into the residence and used dogs to flush him out, Dinh said.
