New juvenile hall plans to be unveiled Monday
Probation officials will hold an open house for the public Monday to unveil plans for a new juvenile hall.
The county has received a state grant of $35million to replace the existing 50-year-old hall, and plans for the new 150-bed facility include program space, safety improvements and room for visitation and behavioral health services, county officials said.
The open house takes place 4 to 6 p.m. at the Silver Star Resource Center, 855 E. Laurel Drive, Bldg. H, Salinas.
Held next to the proposed site for the new facility, the event will include a tour, presentation and maps and renderings of the new structure.
