PESCADERO — Two men killed in a rollover crash Monday on a remote stretch of Highway 1 were identified as Jacob Breaux, 18, of Salinas, and Forrest Peck, 23, of Soquel.

Breaux was driving south about 3:30 p.m. when he lost control just north of Pigeon Point Lighthouse, California Highway Patrol officer Art Montiel said.

The Kia drifted onto the right shoulder then swerved left into northbound lanes before overturning and landing on its roof on the east side of the highway, Montiel said. One of the men was ejected, Montiel said.

Breaux and Peck were pronounced dead by paramedics.

Two passengers in the Kia were also hurt, but they were expected to survive their injuries, the CHP said.

Police said it's not clear what caused the crash. There were no obvious signs alcohol was a factor in the crash, the CHP said.
