The Ontario-Montclair School District Board of directors will be discussing the procedures for renaming school facilities at its meeting tonight.
Leon said he supported the suggestion at Tuesday's City Council meeting.
Board member Steve Garcia first made the request at the Jan. 17 meeting and asked that it be placed on the agenda for the February meeting.
Ontario resident, Alex Espinoza, owns a real estate company and has backed community events such Esperanza Scholarship Foundation and the Ontario Leadership Alliance.
Garcia said he initially introduced the motion before he left the school board in 2010, "for some reason it fell through and it wasn't support."
But board member Maureen Mendoza requested that the superintendent and his cabinet look the process adopted by other school districts to rename buildings.
