CORRALITOS - Two men were arrested Saturday after allegedly shooting several rounds from a vehicle into a hillside off White Road, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office said.

An off-duty emergency dispatcher witnessed the shooting and called 911, and a deputy spotted the vehicle in the area, Sgt. Robin Mitchell said.

The driver, Miguel Narez, 19, was arrested immediately and his passenger, Johnny Angel Castillo, 19, was caught a short while later by Watsonville police after jumping from the car and running, Mitchell said.

Jail records show both men are still in County Jail.

Narez was arrested on suspicion of willful discharge of a firearm with gross negligence and gang involvement, and Castillo was arrested for the same alleged offenses, as well as three gun-related charges and obstructing officers, jail records show.
