"President Lori Bettison-Varga was selected by her peers because of her expertise in the field, proven leadership, and commitment to America's college students," said NAICU President David L. Warren in a news release. "She assumes her responsibilities at a time of great challenge and transformation for American higher education."
On Feb. 6, Bettison-Varga was formally appointed to a three-year term at the annual NAICU meeting in Washington, D.C.
The NAICU, according to the news release, has been a "unified" national voice for independent higher education since 1976 representing nonprofit, private colleges and universities on federal government policy issues.
