Staff of Life cutting carbon
Staff of Life Natural Foods has created Cut Ur CO2, a carbon reduction program that the market says is the first of its kind in the Santa Cruz area.
Customers can offset their carbon emission to and from Staff of Life by purchasing "Cut Ur CO2" credits for each mile traveled. All funds benefit Ecology Action's "Boltage Program" encouraging DeLaveaga and Gault students to bike, scoot, or walk to and from school. Boltage tracks the students' carbon savings along with calories burned, miles traveled and sustainable trips made for the student and for the entire school.
To celebrate the second anniversary of Staff of Life's certified green building, the market will match all Cut Ur CO2 credits purchased on Friday.
For information, contact Kathleen Williford, event coordinator, at 831-423-8632, ext. 107, or go to www.staffoflifemarket.com.
