A man suffered non life-threatening gunshot wounds in Long Beach Friday, police said.

Long Beach police responding to a shots fired call in the 1800 block of Chestnut Avenue at 6:50 p.m. found a man who had been shot in his lower body, police said.

Officials said he was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to survive.

The suspect is still at large and an investigation is ongoing.
