Police find guns, stolen items in home
Salinas police recovered more than 10 guns and several items from recent burglaries after searching a residence at 918 Acosta Plaza late Friday, police said.
Officers with the Violence Suppression Unit searched the home after four gang members fled from them about 8:35 p.m., one of them trying to hide a revolver near the neighbor's fence and three others running into the residence, police said.
Among the guns found were two 20-gauge shotguns, a semiautomatic rifle, two revolvers, two Glocks and other rifles and shotguns, police said.
Two shotguns and a rifle were stolen from a residential burglary Feb. 8 on Boston Street, and one of the Glocks was reported stolen in 2011 from Santa Maria, police said.
Also recovered were a 32-inch Sony TV, a PlayStation and a checkbook stolen in the Boston Street burglary, and a sterling silver coin and handcuffs from a residential burglary Jan. 29 from 916 Acosta Plaza, police said.
Norteño gang indicia was also found in the residence, police said.
Arrested were Juan Perez, 26, on numerous firearm, stolen property and gang charges; Eduardo Manriquez, 20, for violating terms of his bail in a gun case; and a juvenile who had a warrant for his arrest, police said.
