Beaumont is accepting applications to have names of fallen police and firefighters included on the city's public safety memorial.

Three granite slabs will feature names of personnel who died after retiring or while in the line of duty. It includes employees who either resided or worked in Beaumont and Cherry Valley, city officials said. The memorial, located in front of the Beaumont Civic Center on Sixth Street, is set to be unveiled July 4.

Information and the application is available online at www.BeaumontCares.com. Applications will be accepted until May 1.
