Trained volunteers will assist students and parents in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid also referred to as the FAFSA application, according to a statement from the office of Assemblywoman Norma Torres, D-Chino.
Students will also be assisted with the completion of the California Dream Act application, the statement said.
In addition, high school seniors will have a chance to win a $1,000 scholarship. To be eligible high school seniors must attend one of the workshops, complete a student exit survey, as well as completing and mailing FAFSA and Cal Grant GPA Verification forms by the March 2 Cal Grant deadline, the statement said.
As part of preparing for the workshops it is recommended students and parents register for a FAFSA pin online.

The schedule of workshops is the following:
- Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m., Ontario High School, 901 W. Francis St., Ontario.
- Feb. 28 from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Boys and Girls Club of Pomona Valley, 1420 S.
- Feb. 28 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Montclair High School, 4725 Benito St., Montclair.
The workshops have been organized through a partnership of Assemblywoman Torres, the California Student Aid Commission, Ontario High School, the Boys and Girls Club of Pomona Valley and Montclair High School.
