Michael Barron, 70, of Chino Hills was arrested early Thursday morning at his home in the 5500 block of Tremaine Way in Chino Hills, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff's booking records.
A woman contacted the Chino Hills sheriff's station Wednesday to report she had been inappropriately touched by a Barron, according to a sheriff's news release.
The woman said she had answered an ad looking for nursing students interested in learning physical therapy. In the ad, Barron stated he was a professor of kinesiology willing to provide training, officials said. The student was then expected to perform that therapy on Barron for his physical ailments.
The woman said as part of the training, Barron performed the therapy on her and subsequently allegedly touched intimate parts of her body against her will, according to the release. Barron also reportedly asked the victim to touch him inappropriately under the guise of therapy.
Barron was arrested on suspicion of sexual battery and released later Thursday morning, records show.
Charges hadn't been filed against Barron as of Friday evening, according to court records.
Barron has written a self-help book entitled, "The Method of Forgiveness.
