BARSTOW - A Barstow man referred to by prosecutors as a violent sexual predator was sentenced Monday to 30 years in state prison for molesting seven of his female relatives, who ranged in age from 5 to 10 years old, according to the San Bernardino County District Attorney's Office.

Scott Christopher Johnson, 41, was sentenced before Judge Miriam I. Morton in Barstow Superior Court after pleading guilty on Dec. 4 to three counts of committing lewd act on a minor by force, according to prosecutors.

Online court records show Johnson's guilty plea was part of a plea bargain on Dec. 4. He received credit for about a year of time already served, court records state.

Johnson's wife, Mioshi Tikia Johnson, was also sentenced Monday to five years and eight months in state prison for her role in the case. Mioshi Johnson pleaded guilty on Dec. 4 to two counts of felony child abuse as part of a plea bargain.

Court records show Mioshi Johnson received credit for 684 days, or almost two years, already served.

"Scott Johnson is a horrible person who did horrible things to children," said Deputy District Attorney Shannon Faherty, in a statement posted to her office's Facebook page. "But in this case, I am also very satisfied with Mioshi Johnson going to state prison. She knew the things that were going on under their roof and she did nothing to protect the children.

"Someone who makes a decision to turn a blind eye while our most vulnerable victims fall victim to predators like her husband should not get a pass," Faherty continued.
