Shots fired; no injuries reported
Seaside police are investigating a non-injury shooting in the 1200 block of Ord Grove Avenue about 6:50p.m. Tuesday.
A vehicle and an apartment building were hit by gunfire. A resident of the building said he heard about nine shots.
The shooting is believed to be gang-related, police said.
iPad locator leads to burglary stash
A stolen iPad was traced by the owner and police through its locator device early Tuesday, police said.
Police said the owner noticed the tracking device had been turned on at 1 a.m. and told police it was part of loot taken in a burglary of his home last week.
Officers responded to a house in the 500 block of Rainier Drive, police said, contacted the parents and found that a 17-year-old boy on probation who lives there was not at home.
A search of the youth's room turned up property taken from at least five home burglaries in North Salinas, police said.
Police said the youth's 15-year-old brother was cited for possession of stolen property.
Robber hits man in face with brass knuckles
A man was hit in the face with brass knuckles and his attacker snatched a necklace off him late Monday in the 1700 block Emerald Way, police said.
Police said the victim, 42, was walking home from a store shortly before 8:20 p.m. when a man called to him.
He was able to make his way home and call, police said.
Another man was standing nearby but didn't participate in the robbery, according to police.
