UPLAND - The Upland Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is looking for volunteers to play victims in an earthquake simulation and to help in the exercise at 11:15 a.m. Saturday at Upland Fire Station 164, 1825 N. Campus Ave.

The team will be conducting a Disaster Simulation Drill for CERT class 1301.

Volunteers will serve as disaster victims and "walk-up CERT Team members."

Trained CERT members are invited to participate in the skills refresher training available during the simulation.

There will be an exercise safety brief and walk-thru at the station.

Volunteers should be finished by 3 p.m.

The Upland CERT was launched in December 2011 and have trained more than 60 community CERT members.

The trainers have more than 150 years of combined experience and are comprised of military, firefighters, retired law enforcement, emergency management, Red Cross disaster services and health and safety, auxiliary communications services/management, Civil Air Patrol and one chaplain.

The team also holds bi-monthly training and continue to train on disaster simulations, ICS, first aid, life and carriers, fire suppression, search and rescue as well as communications.
