Gunman robs hotel customer
A female customer at a Salinas motel was robbed by two men late Monday who burst into the office, police said.
The customer and a clerk at the Motel 6, 1257 De La Torre St., were in the office about 9:15 p.m. when two men, one with a handgun, came in and demanded money.
The clerk ran out and escaped, but the robbers took cash from the customer and ran away. The robbers were in their 20s and wore black hoodies, black bandanas and black gloves, police said.
Gunman robs gas station early Tuesday
A Valero Gas Station at 47 John St. was robbed by a gunman just before 7 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
The robber brandished a handgun at the clerk and demanded money, then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a newer model silver sedan, police said.
The robber was in his early 20s and wore a gray hooded sweatshirt with the letter "N" on the chest, gray gloves and a gray mask, police said.
Gunmen rob men sitting in car
Two men sitting in a car were robbed by two gunmen just after midnight Tuesday, Salinas police said.
The victims, both 21, were in the 400 block of Front Street about 12:05 a.m. Two men with handguns approached and took the victims' wallets and other personal property, police said.
Search turns up empty after reports of shots
Seaside police conducted a yard-by-yard search Tuesday in a neighborhood after reports
But the search near Hilby Avenue and Wheeler Street didn't turn up anything out of the ordinary, police said.
Cmdr. Judy Stradan said the search near the Oldemeyer Center came after residents and a police officer in the area reported the sound of gunfire just before 4 p.m.
