A woman was shot twice Monday afternoon during a fight with her husband, police said.

Police received a call about 3 p.m. from a resident in the 4300 block of Edminster Drive that a woman had been shot, La Verne police Capt. Nick Paz said.

Officers found Ieleen Banda had been shot in the neck and left shoulder.

Paramedics took her to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center. Her wounds were not considered life-threatening.

Michael Banda, the woman's husband, was arrested and booked into jail at the La Verne Police Department on suspicion of attempted murder.

Police seized a .22-caliber revolver from the home. Banda was expected to be arraigned today in Pomona Superior Court, police said.
