PLEASANTON

Online survey, meetings to update cultural plan

The city's Community Services department has scheduled two community workshops to collect information and ideas from residents for an update of the city's cultural plan.

The plan was last updated in 1998 and included six goals for the future of civic arts, including development of the Firehouse Arts Center downtown. Residents can also comment online and take a survey at http://bit.ly/14tLBAk and click on the survey link.

The first workshop will be 7 p.m. April 22 at the Veterans Memorial Building, 301 Main St. That meeting will include a general overview of the update, and the community is welcome to comment.

The second will be 7 p.m. April 23 at the Firehouse Arts Center, 4444 Railroad Ave. That meeting will focus on public art. A date has not yet been set for a third workshop, to be held in June. For details or to comment on the cultural plan update process, please contact Community Services Manager Michele Crose at mcrose@cityofpleasantonca.gov or call 925-931-5347.
