Elks spring carnival free for kids up to 12

The Livermore-Pleasanton Elks Lodge will host its third annual free children's carnival for Tri-Valley kids ages 2 through 12 on April 21.

The carnival will run from 1 to 4 p.m. at Livermore-Pleasanton Elks Lodge #2117, 940 Larkspur Drive in Livermore. Each child will receive a ticket good for 10 free game tokens, a free hot dog lunch, a bag of popcorn and cotton candy. Children can trade in tokens from winning games for prizes.

Additional food and game tokens can be bought for a nominal fee. All proceeds will benefit the Elks National Foundation. The free carnival is funded through a Promise Grant funded by the Elks National Foundation.

Free drop-in computer tutoring at the library

The Pleasanton Library is offering free computer help drop-in sessions every Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Assistance is available on everything from how to download library e-books to e-readers, sending email attachments, blogging and social networking to general Internet questions and more.

The library is at 400 Old Bernal Ave. For more information, ask at the reference desk or call 925-931-3400, ext. 7 (for reference desk).
