FREEWAY closes LANES FOR REPAIRS: Emergency repairs on a hole in southbound Interstate 680 pavement in Alamo will force Caltrans to close two southbound lanes between 10 a.m. and about 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, officials announced late Tuesday.

The two right lanes on the four-lane freeway will be closed at the I-680 overcrossing above Livorna Road. The southbound freeway onramps from South Main Drive and Rudgear Road also will be closed.

As a detour, Caltrans suggests southbound motorists consider taking Danville Boulevard to the Stone Valley Road onramp for I-680.

The deep depression in the freeway will be repaired with hot asphalt to provide a smoother ride for motorists, Caltrans spokesman Allyn Amsk said.
