As "Homeland" revs up for its second season beginning Sunday (10 p.m. Showtime), we look back at Claire Danes' other memorable roles:

1. Angela Chase -- "My So-Called Life" (1994-95) is still the gold standard for teen drama. Danes starred as the lovesick-angsty Angela in the ABC series that was canceled way too soon. ABC is probably still regretting that decision.

2. "Temple Grandin" (2010) -- Danes earned her first Emmy award for this true-life tale from HBO. She played an autistic woman who possesses extraordinary insight into animal behavior.

3. Juliet -- Danes shined in Baz Luhrmann's noisy, modernized take on "Romeo & Juliet" (1996). She and Leo (DiCaprio) brought Shakespeare to the MTV crowd.

4. Mirabelle Buttersfield -- In the romantic comedy "Shopgirl" (2005), Danes is a store clerk with two romantic possibilities (Steve Martin and Jason Schwartzman). The New York Times labeled her performance "flawless."

5. Beth -- Although she wasn't the lead woman in "Little Women" (1994), Danes' heartfelt portrayal of sickly sister Beth earned her many accolades.
