OAKLAND -- A man shot to death Sunday night in West Oakland was identified by police Monday as a 26-year-old resident of East Oakland.
Police said Brittan Sneed was shot about 8:25 p.m. in the 700 block of Market Street in a parking lot of the Acorn housing complex. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:41 p.m.
Investigators said Monday they don't know yet what Sneed was doing in West Oakland and have not determined a motive in his death. No arrests have been made.
Police on Monday also identified a 45-year-old man shot to death Saturday night in the 1100 block of 32nd Street.
He is Lashawn Browning, who police said lived in the area.
A 58-year-old friend of Browning's who was wounded in the 6:09 p.m. shooting remained hospitalized. His name has not been released. Police have not released a motive yet in the shooting and have made no arrests.
Police said they have no information that the two shootings are related.
In a nonfatal shooting Sunday night, a man was wounded about 11:55 p.m. in the 9000 block of MacArthur Boulevard.
He was in stable condition at a hospital. No motive was released and no arrests have been made.
Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in the Market Street shooting and up to $15,000 in the 32nd Street shooting for information leading to the arrests of suspects.
