The press conference is set for 4 p.m. at sheriff's headquarters on Third Street.
It is unknown if the department plans to release information on the deputy slain during the gun battle.
"Identifies of involved personnel will be released when deemed appropriate," sheriff's officials said in a statement.
Officials also said information on the human remains found in the cabin won't be released until the person's identity is determined.
