Kristen Bell got her "Veronica Mars" movie funded in less than 11 hours.
Bell and show creator Rob Thomas started a Kickstarter campaign Wednesday morning. By 6 p.m., they'd raised the $2 million that Warner Bros. said it needed to go ahead with plans to fund promotion, marketing and distribution.
"My mind is blown. I've been fantasizing about this and had to tell myself, 'Stop it, Rob, you're being silly. You're setting yourself up for disappointment,'" Thomas told Entertainment Weekly. "And now today has exceeded the wildest pipe dream I let myself entertain. Holy cow. We better make a good movie. These amazing fans have stepped up. We better deliver."
And they didn't stop stepping up. By noon
If the fans keep showing so much love, maybe they can do a 3-D version.
Thomas previously told Entertainment Weekly the movie's plot would include -- no surprise -- murder, mystery and a high-school reunion. It will film this summer and be released in early 2014.
"I have never fallen so deeply in love with a character," Bell has said. "We all became so close, and the cancellation of the show left a huge hole in my heart. I would have put on "Veronica Mars: The Circus" to bring it back."
