The Dave Matthews Band is set to perform a three-night stand, Aug. 22-24, at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley. Yes, I realize that statement doesn't thrill everyone. So, hipsters can just move right on past this item and read about the Replacements below. All others, however, should know the DMB tickets are $75 and go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Feb. 7 through www.ticketmaster.com. The online presale starts at 10 a.m. Feb. 6 (password is Virginia). These shows are being billed as evenings with the Dave Matthews Band. The group usually tours with an opening act, but this time around it will go it alone and perform two sets per night.

The Replacements -- So many of the Coachella acts are also announcing Bay Area dates. We've gotten word on shows by Neutral Milk Hotel, Ellie Goulding and the Knife, among others. So, when are we going to get the one that matters most of all -- the Replacements? Hopefully, soon. It's hard to believe that the legendary indie band would pass on the chance to play the Bay Area. My guess is that we'll see an announcement about a show at the Bill Graham Civic soon.
