What to watch this week

Clayton Valley Charter vs. College Park, baseball, Thursday, 4 p.m. -- The Eagles and Falcons get together for the third time in 10 days in the Diablo Valley Athletic League tournament title game at Concord High. The winner could get the No. 1 seed for the North Coast Section Division II playoffs.

California at De La Salle, baseball, Thursday, 4 p.m. -- The Grizzlies and Spartans get together in a key clash that will go a long way in determining the East Bay Athletic League champion and possible No. 1 seed for the NCS Division I playoffs.

NCS championships, swimming, Saturday, 10:30 am. -- The best high swimmers in the NCS will converge on Concord Community Pool for what is one of the best high school meets in the state. Campolindo is the defending boys team champion and Carondelet was the 2013 girls team champion.

NorCal Championships, boys golf, Monday. 8 a.m. -- The best high school golfers in Northern California will tee it up at Sierra View Country Club in Roseville in the regional championships. The East Bay will be represented by Foothill, Campolindo and Dublin, and individual golfers Will Brueckner of Acalanes and Josh McCarthy of De La Salle.

Moving on Up

Kristen Clark, UC Santa Barbara, softball -- Clark, an outfielder from Monte Vista, was named the Big West Conference's Freshman Field Player of the Year. Battling leadoff, she set school records for batting average (.437) and hits (90) and hit safely in 46 of the team's 54 games.
