Xavier Rudd is a sight to behold onstage.

The Australian musician surrounds himself with a huge variety of instruments, ranging from banjo and bass to drums and didgeridoo.

Rudd can play all those instruments -- as well as basically anything else you put in front of him -- and the result is something that must be seen to be believed. The singer-songwriter is back out on the road and performs Saturday at the Fillmore in San Francisco.

Ash Grunwald opens the 9 p.m. show. Tickets are $25, www.livenation.com.

Kenny Loggins was once known as the "King of the Movie Soundtrack."

The singer-songwriter delivered so many memorable movie anthems during the '80s, including "I'm Alright" in "Caddyshack," the title track to "Footloose" and "Danger Zone" in "Top Gun."

Yet, that's only part of his story.

The Grammy-winning artist also achieved much fame as one half of Loggins and Messina, the '70s soft-rock duo responsible for such favorites as "Your Mama Don't Dance," "Danny's Song" and "House at Pooh Corner."

Loggins performs Wednesday at the Montalvo Arts Center in Saratoga. Blue Sky Riders are also on the bill. Show time is 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $35-$125, www.ticketmaster.com.

Music lovers got a nice surprise in early 2013: a new New Order studio album.

"Lost Sirens" was the influential synth-pop band's ninth studio outing -- and its first since 2005's "Waiting for the Sirens' Call."

The band will likely perform a few cuts from "Lost Sirens," as well as plenty of the old fan favorites, during its highly anticipated concert on Friday at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco.

La Roux and DJ Whitney Fierce are also on the bill.

Show time is 8 p.m. and tickets are $55-$75, www.ticketmaster.com.
