OAKLAND -- A man and woman were wounded by gunfire in East Oakland on Monday afternoon, police said.
The two were taken to a hospital where their conditions were not immediately known.
It was also not known if the two were together when the shooting happened or if they were the intended targets.
The shooting was reported just before 3 p.m. in the area of 67th and Bancroft avenues in the Havenscourt area.
The man was hit more than once and the woman once, police said.
Police were trying to determine if the shots were fired by someone on the street or in a car.
No arrests were made and no motive was released.
Streets in the area were shut down while police conducted their investigation.
