All lanes of southbound Interstate Highway 680 in Fremont were
reopened at about 6:50 a.m. today following a fatal traffic collision,
according to the California Highway Patrol.
The multiple-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a possible sport utility vehicle blocked the No. 1 lane of the highway near Washington Boulevard, CHP Officer Peter Van Eckhardt said.
A motorcyclist was killed in the crash, Van Eckhardt said. A Sig-alert issued at about 5:20 a.m. was canceled at about 6:50 a.m.
