EL CERRITO — Prosecutors filed several sexual assault, robbery and attempted robbery charges Thursday against a 20-year-old Oakland parolee accused of raping a woman on the Ohlone Greenway.

Troyshawn Robinson has remained in County Jail in Martinez since his arrest Monday night near the El Cerrito Del Norte BART station. Police say he mugged a couple at knifepoint, then sexually assaulted the woman while threatening the man with the knife.

Police credit quick reporting from witnesses with an arrest soon after. Robinson carried property belonging to the victims and from a mugging earlier that day in Oakland, El Cerrito police Cpl. Sue Garman said.

Prosecutors also filed against Robinson in connection with an attempted mugging earlier in the day in El Cerrito.
