A seasonal combination of a warm high pressure area over the Pacific and a cold vat of low pressure well inland is expected to bring some strong winds to Bay Area hills today through tomorrow, the National Weather Service says.

"We could have gusts up to 45 miles per hour in the East Bay hills, along the coastal hills and in the Santa Cruz mountains later this morning and continuing this afternoon," Weather Service forecaster Brian Tentinger said.

"There were some reports of gusts of up to 50 miles per hour in higher elevations in Marin County and in the East Bay, he said.

Winds should be especially strong at locations above 1,000 feet, Tentinger said.

Otherwise, skies should be fair today with highs ranging from the mid-60s near the coast to to the mid 70s well inland. Lows tonight should be around 50.

No rain in sight until the weekend and then we can only expect a few light showers, he said.
