A 16-year-old boy who was shot multiple times Tuesday night in Richmond was in serious but stable condition this morning at a local trauma center, Richmond police Lt. Mark Gagan said.
Police received calls from numerous residents at about 9:10 p.m. reporting shots fired in the 4600 block of Cutting Boulevard.
When officers arrived, they found the victim unconscious and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his torso and arms.
He was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, where he underwent surgery and has since been stabilized, Gagan said.
Detectives searched the neighborhood and knocked on doors but were unable to find witnesses willing to tell them what they saw or why the shooting occurred, Gagan said.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call homicide detective Sgt. Mitch Peixoto at (510) 620-6647.
