MORAGA — A two-alarm fire that caused $500,000 in damages to a Moraga house originated in an area of the house that was under construction, according to the Moraga-Orinda Fire District.

One firefighter was taken to a local hospital by ambulance for treatment for heat exhaustion. He did not suffer any serious injuries, Moraga-Orinda fire Battalion Chief Bryan Collins said.

The blaze was reported at 1:44 p.m. today on Carr Ranch Road, near Camino Pablo, Collins said. Eleven engines from the Moraga-Orinda and Contra Costa County fire departments responded.

No one was hurt and the fire was contained at 2:20 p.m., Collins said.

"Investigators are focussing on the construction (site as a possible cause)," Collins said.

No one was home at the time.
