FROM WEEDS to paradise: Bonnie and Steve Cichosz started with a yard full of weeds when they moved into their new home in Discovery Bay. It's taken four years of working weekends and holidays, in the cold and rain and summer heat, but the couple have transformed their yard. They built a stunning redwood canopy, installed Basalite concrete pavers in three shapes and sizes, and planted a variety of Hedra ivy, calla, sage and Carolina yellow jasmine. A fire pit is on the upper level, and teak tables and chairs are under the canopy, which provides welcome shade on these hot days. Have you remodeled anything lately? Please send us before and after photos with a few details on what work was done and how you like it. It helps if the photos are taken from the same angle. Include your name, city and phone number so we can reach you for more details if need be. Digital photos should be high-resolution JPEGs, and prints should be made on photo paper. Send them to the Times, Home & Garden Before & After, P.O. Box 8099, Walnut Creek, CA 94596-8099, or e-mail jmorris@bayareanewsgroup.com. Sorry, we can't return photos.
