DANVILLE — A magnitude 2.6 earthquake slightly shook near Danville early this morning, and so far has yielded no reports of injuries or damage, according to the U.S. Geological Survey and local authorities.

The microquake — termed so because it's under magnitude 3 — occurred about 12:15 a.m. about one mile northwest of Danville and 10 miles south of Concord, according to the USGS. It shook along the Calaveras fault.

Local emergency agencies have not received any calls related to the quake, dispatchers said.
