No. 2 UCLA scored three unanswered goals in the second half to down the No. 10 Cal women's soccer team 3-0 on Friday in Los Angeles.
The loss snapped an eight-game Bears winning streak, the last seven of which came in Pac-12 play.
UCLA (15-0-2, 8-0-1 Pac-12) limited Cal (14-4-0, 7-2-0) to just four shots -- three of which came in the final 45 minutes. The Bruins took 21 shots.
Cal's Emily Kruger played all 90 minutes in goal and made nine stops.
Stanford (15-1-1, 9-0 Pac-12) extended its conference winning streak to 40. The Cardinal would clinch its fourth consecutive conference title with a victory Sunday at UCLA.
USC (5-9-3, 2-5-2) was outshot 25-12.
Michael Semenza scored the equalizer for the Gaels (8-3-3, 4-2-1 WCC) in the 37th minute off a long throw-in by Nathan Arambula. Trevor Newquist scored the winner five minutes later.
Camille Cheng, Yvette Kong, Elizabeth Pelton and Kelly Naze won two individual events each as the defending NCAA champion Cal women topped host BYU 158-118 in the Bears' dual-meet opener. Cal won 14 of 16 events.
Cal senior and U.S. Olympian Caitlin Leverenz won the 200 butterfly by more than three seconds over BYU's Kim Doroghian, 2:02.39-2:05.93.
Christina Higgins had a career high 18 kills, and Correy Johnson added eight kills and seven blocks as the Cal women rolled to a 25-19, 25-22, 25-19 win over visiting Arizona.
Shannon Hawari pitched in with seven kills and eight blocks, and Lara Vukasovic had seven kills and eight digs for the Bears (11-10, 5-6), who have won two of three.
The Wildcats fell to 12-11, 4-8 in the Pac-12.
The San Francisco Bulls play the Alaska Aces in Anchorage this weekend. Friday's ECHL game was at 8:15 p.m., the same as Saturday's. Sunday's game is at 4:05 p.m.
