Scouting report: The rebuilding project at USF continues for Azzi, a former Stanford star. Though the team has just nine wins in her first two years, the Dons are capable of surprising. Last year they earned a road win at BYU, which was ranked in the top 25 at the time ... USF will look to some new faces to provide the scoring. Last year's leading scorer,
Rheina Ale, graduated while
Taj Winston, who averaged 9.9 points and a team-high 5.2 rebound as a freshman, will start the season on the bench with an injury.
Daniels is the only returning USF player to start all 30 games, though
Khlok also was a key contributor. She started 22 games, averaging 8.0 points. Two freshmen,
Taylor Proctor and
Zhane Dikes, earned starts in USF's 72-40 exhibition win over Missouri Southern ... After finishing tied for last n the WCC with Loyola Marymount last year, the Dons were again picked to finish at the bottom of the standings in the conference's preseason poll.
