SAN JOSE -- San Jose State offensive lineman David Quessenberry has accepted an invitation to participate in the Senior Bowl.
Quessenberry is the first San Jose State offensive lineman to play in the Senior Bowl. He will join teammate Ryan Otten, a tight end, to mark the first time since 1974 that the Spartans have sent two players to the Senior Bowl.
The three-year starter at left tackle began his San Jose State career as a walk-on and was one of three finalists for this year's Burlsworth Trophy, which honors the nation's top player who began their career as a non-scholarship player.
The Senior Bowl, considered the top postseason all-star game and a showcase for potential future NFL players, is Jan. 26 in Mobile, Ala.
