MORAGA -- The Saint Mary's College men's basketball team drew Creighton as its opponent for the ESPN BracketBusters series, the network announced Monday.

The Gaels will host the Bluejays, who are ranked No. 16 in the latest Associated Press poll, at 3 p.m. on Feb. 23 in a game that will be televised nationally by either ESPN or ESPN2.

Creighton (20-3) features one of the nation's top players in All-American Doug McDermott. The junior forward, who is the son of Creighton head coach Greg McDermott, averages 24 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.

Saint Mary's (19-4) has won seven straight games and has a reigning conference player of the year of its own in senior guard Matthew Dellavedova.

"You're playing against one of the top mid-major programs, one of the best programs in the country, actually," Saint Mary's coach Randy Bennett said in a release on the school's website. "You've got the star power, so to speak, of a guy like McDermott and a guy like Dellavedova. It'll be pretty exciting to see two really good teams having good years and a couple pretty special players."

The contest is considered the feature game of the final year of the ESPN BracketBusters series.
