Stanford's Rob Grube shot a 1-over-par 72 at the Meadow Club in Fairfax on Tuesday and is in a five-way tie for second place in the Pacific-10 Conference men's golf championships.

UCLA's Kevin Chappell leads the event by a stroke at 4-under 209 heading into today's final round.

• San Jose State sophomore Stephan Stallworth shot a par-72 at Cinnabar Hills Golf Club, moving into a seventh-place tie at 5-over 149 in the Western Athletic Conference championships. Boise State's Troy Merritt leads at 5-under 139 heading into today's final round.

• The Stanford women's tennis team is seeded fourth for the NCAA championships and will host Boston University in the first round on May 9. Cal is seeded eighth and will host Army in the first round.

• In the men's draw, Stanford will open with UC-Santa Barbara in Malibu on May 9 or 10. Cal will face Boise State in Los Angeles in the opening round.

The Indianapolis Colts signed San Jose State quarterback Adam Tafralis as an undrafted free agent.

• The San Diego Chargers signed tackle L.J. Shelton to a two-year deal. Shelton, entering his 10th season, was released by the Miami Dolphins in February.

• The Buffalo Bills will receive $78 million - more than double their calculated 2006 operating income - to play eight games in Toronto over the next five years.
