A 17-year-old East Palo Alto resident has been charged with assault and attempted murder after repeatedly stabbing someone inside a home on Newbridge Street.
Officers responded to a report of a fight in progress at the home at 3:21 am Sunday. When they arrived, the found a resident suffering from multiple stab wounds.
The suspect was booked into the San Mateo County Youth Services Center.
"The suspect initially reported that he had been robbed," said East Palo Alto police Sgt. Jeff Liu. "After questioning he admitted that he had been involved in a stabbing."
Police are still trying to determine the name of the victim, who was treated at the scene then taken to a hospital, where he is listed in critical but stable condition.
